French electronic music pioneers Air will pay tribute to their iconic debut album Moon Safari when they head to Yorkshire this summer.

25 years after its release, Air will play Moon Safari live in its entirety when they headline TX Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall on Wednesday June 26.

Tickets for this incredible show at the historic venue’s open-air courtyard go on sale at 9am on Friday February 16 via ticketmaster.co.uk

Now considered a cult classic, Moon Safari is a perfect record from the golden era of French electronic music – a masterful fusion of downtempo with the rich heritage of chanson française.

Its release catapulted Air – aka Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel – to fame, millions of sales and sell-out world tours with tracks like Sexy Boy, All I Need and La Femme d’Argent lodging themselves in the public subconscious during the late 1990s.

To further celebrate the 25th anniversary of Air’s seminal debut album, a deluxe Moon Safari audio-video package will be released via Parlophone/Warner Music on March 8.

This follows huge excitement the iconic French duo will play their widely celebrated album in its entirety for the first time across Europe.

All dates on the original tour sold out in record time and, given the exceptional demand for tickets, Air have now added further dates to their touring schedule for late spring and into the summer including a night at The Royal Albert Hall and now The Piece Hall.

Air join Tom Jones, Grace Jones, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Sheryl Crow, Underworld, Rick Astley, Jess Glynne, Fatboy Slim, PJ Harvey, Underworld, Tom Odell, Pixies, IDLES, Richard Ashcroft, McFly, Loyle Carner and Status Quo among the headliners for TX Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall 2024 – with more to be announced.

The Halifax show is co-promoted by The Piece Hall Trust and Cuffe and Taylor.
