GRAMMY Award-winner Leon Bridges is joining the sensational line-up of headliners at this summer’s TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall.
The globally acclaimed Texas-born singer-songwriterbrings his Leon World Tour to the historic Halifax venue’s stunning open-air courtyard on Thursday July 24.
Bridges will be joined on the night by soulful Leeds trio Gotts Street Park who will open the show.
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday February 7 from thepiecehall.co.uk and ticketmaster.co.uk
Bridges is riding on a high right now after the release of his wonderful fourth studio album Leon.
Recorded and produced by Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves and Maggie Rogers), Leon features 13 handcrafted songs spotlighting Bridges’ signature storytelling and organic genre alchemy.
The album’s release follows the singles Peaceful Place, Laredo and That’s What I Love.
Leon builds on the legacy of Bridges’ three previous albums, Gold-Diggers Sound, Good Thing, and his 2015 breakthrough LP, the Platinum-selling Coming Home, all of which received GRAMMY nominations for Best R&B Album.
Bridges is a sell-out arena artist back home in the US. Pollstar magazine recently described his “extraordinary” voice as “a smoky, soulful baritone that flows through a room like a slow dance and wraps around listeners like a lover’s embrace”.
His Leon World Tour is currently winning rave reviews with dates in Australia, the US and Europe in 2025.
Gotts Street Park are rapidly establishing themselves as a revered force in UK music. Having produced for artists such as Mabel, Celeste, Yellow Days, Kali Uchis, Grentea Peng and Rejjie Snow, as well as carving out their own material, they are a must-see live outfit.
Their songwriting and performance approach – which sees them collaborate with a range of vocalists – is a deliberate callback to the methods made famous by legendary studios like Sun and Stax in Memphis, or FAME and Muscle Shoals in Alabama, and their in-house bands.
Combined with a shared love of movie soundtracks and film scores, Gotts Street Park are taking age-old ideas and techniques and giving them a modern feel and texture.
Leon Bridges join the likes of Deftones, Weezer, The Corrs, Travis, Paul Heaton, The Teskey Brothers, Faithless, Texas, Supergrass, Simple Minds, Olly Murs, Khruangbin and Rag’n’Bone Man among the headliners announced for TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall 2025.
The Piece Hall, last year, celebrated a record-breaking summer of live music as close to 200,000 music fans visited its iconic open-air courtyard.
